The Khajaguda Hills, also known as Fakhruddin Gutta, boast granite rock formations that date back as far as 2.5 billion years. The hills serve as a popular destination for adventure enthusiasts, providing opportunities for activities like hiking and bouldering.The Khajaguda Hills feature gneissic granite rock formations, which are believed to have formed shortly after the Earth’s crust took shape around 250 crore (2.5 billion) years ago. These rocks are known for their hardness and act as a base rock, with newer rocks forming over them.

The site’s uniqueness is further emphasized by its 180 acres of land, which includes nearly 20 different kinds of erosional geological formations. Some of these formations include boulders, castle koppies, nubbins, inselberg, peneplains, kluftkarren, corestones, pans, fracture valley, runnels, balancing rocks, pseudobedding, pits, tafoni, plinths, rock doughnuts, caves, splits and wedges, and chaos.

The area also holds historical and spiritual significance. The tomb of Saint Hazrat Baba Fakhruddin Aulia, the spiritual mentor of Ala-ud-Din Bahman Shah (founder of the Bahmani Kingdom), is located here. The saint was buried in 1353 AD. Additionally, there is an over 800-year-old Annatha Padmanabha Swamy Temple and a cave where the revered saint Meher Baba had meditated.

Khajaguda Lake, also known as Bhagirathamma Cheruvu, is a prominent lake located  amidst the Khajaguda Hills, specifically Fakhruddin Gutta, this site offers a picturesque setting for various outdoor activities such as hiking and bouldering.
