Description

Hyderabad and the Deccan region has very unique geography with huge granite rock formations that date back to 2500 million years ago, making them older than the Himalayan mountain ranges. These rock formations were granted protection under the HUDA Zoning Regulations 1981. The first 9 Formations proposed by the Society to Save Rocks in 1997 and protected under Regulation 13 of the Hyderabad Urban Development Authority Zoning Regulations 1981 are displayed on the right.
