Description
The market was originally known as Residency Bazar and constructed under the jurisdiction of the British Residency. It was then transferred to the Nizam’s Government in 1933, when the name was changed to Sultan Bazar.
The market is known for its collection of clothing, academic books, jewellery, etc. The market also contains street food and a number of historic structures including an old Jain temple, the Hashmathgunj Kabootarkhana, Sultan Bazar clock tower and the Narasimha Swamy temple.
Existing Condition
The main road within the Sultan Bazar is a busy vehicular road, often occupied by a number of street vendors. During monsoon, waterlogging is observed on the roads.
