Shivvaram Wildlife Sanctuary, established in 1967, was created to safeguard marsh crocodiles in a lush riverine forest spanning 36.29 square kilometers (14.01 sq mi). Nestled within this sanctuary are a diverse array of flora, predominantly teak and terminalia, creating a vibrant habitat.

This sanctuary is a refuge for various wildlife, most notably marsh crocodiles from the Godavari River. Among its residents are Indian leopards, sloth bears, nilgai, blackbucks, chitals, pythons, and langurs. The undulating terrain contributes to the sanctuary’s picturesque charm.
