Description
Built in the 19th century, the Maula Ali Kaman is the entrance to the revered Shi’ite shrine atop the Maula Ali Hill. The gateway was built to welcome the Nizam and his troops to the sacred precinct but it also served for demarcating the boundary.
The elevation of the Kaman is defined by a large central semi-circular arch, with smaller semi-circular arches at the ground and crenellated arches at the first floor level on either side. The gateway is topped with a decorative parapet.
Existing Condition
The Kaman was restored in 2021.
