Description

One of the oldest markets in the city of Hyderabad, Begum Bazar is a large wholesale market for household goods, electrical goods, metal work, clothing, etc. It also houses a large fish market.

The market was built by the city’s merchants on the land gifted to them by Humda Begum, the wife of the seven Nizam of Hyderabad, Osman Ali Khan. The market contains various structures in different architectural styles over the years and has shopkeepers and residents from all over the country.

Existing Condition

The main road of the bazar is a very narrow one and that leads to heavy traffic. Due to the fish market ,sewage leaks can be seen occasionally and during monsoons water logging occurs easily.
