Description
Built in the 16th century by Mummadi Pothaji, this temple attracts a substantial number of devotees from Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana.
It houses intricately carved idols of Lord Vishnu and Vaishnavite dwarapalakas, who hold symbolic items like the conch, discus, mace, and lotus in their four hands. Devotees also venerate other deities such as Alwars, Surya, Hanuman, in accordance with Hindu traditions.
The location of this temple inside caves highlights the importance of this temple from centuries with the intricately carved arches and above the cave there is a pyramidal shikara which has been constructed, which is a key feature of this temple and shows the significance of the idols here that are situated inside a cave.
A jatara occurs during Magha Purnima where lots of people from the region congregate to celebrate the lord.
