Pochera Waterfalls

Location

Pochera falls is located 37km from Nirmal and 47km from from Adilabad.

Description

The Pochera Falls is is situated within the Sahyadri mountain range, and it owes its origin to the river Godavari. As the river winds its way through the mountains, it splinters into smaller streams. Some of these streams deviate from their course and converge at a specific point, giving rise to the Pochera Falls, which cascades from a height of 20 meters. The base of the falls is remarkably deep and capable of holding a substantial volume of water.

The falls are unique in their beauty and also possess an element of trepidation rarely found in the state or even the entire country. The bedrock beneath the waterfall is composed of sturdy granite, which provides the necessary resilience and gravitational stability to withstand the powerful force of the falls. The lush green forest that envelops the waterfall creates a natural habitat for various wildlife, including reptiles, bird species, and numerous insects. This setting also makes Pochera Falls an attractive destination for adventure seekers.

Adding a spiritual dimension to this beautiful locale is the presence of the Narsimha Swamy temple located in close proximity to the waterfall. This temple contributes to the spiritual ambiance of the area.

Existing Condition

The access road to the falls is bumpy and the best time to visit the falls is during October-February , as the water is dried up during the summers.
