Location
Upperu village is located about 15 kms south of Gadwal town on the Gadwal – Raichur road in Mahbubnagar district.

Description
Four cairns (burial mounds) were excavated in 1993-94 at the site. Each human burials was found with multiple skeletons, and the artefacts found included megalithic pottery and iron implements.
A black ware lid with ramhead was an important find in the site, which is now displayed in the Pillalmarri Museum, Mahabubnagar.
Existing Condition
The excavated artefacts of the site are located at the Centenary Heritage Museum, Hyderabad and the Pillalmarri Museum, Mahabubnagar.
