Sir Aqeel Jung was born in 1874 in Bilgram, Hardoi District. He was the third son of Nawab Imad-ul-Mulk Bahadur, who belonged to a well-known Sayyed family that migrated from Wasit, Mesopotamia to India in 1217.
Aqeel Jung received early education from his mother before joining Madrasa-i-Aliya. In 1893, he passed his matriculation exam with distinction and later passed the F.A. exam from Nizam College, but was unable to continue further studies due to poor health.
In 1897, he joined Nizam’s Government service and was appointed as DY. Collector at Aurangabad, where he served in various districts of the Nizam’s Dominion in the Revenue Department. In 1905, he was appointed as Inspector of Paigah by Sir Viqar-ul-Umara.
