Nawab Moin-ud-Doula Bahadur, born in 1891, was the only son of Nawab Sir Asman Jah Bahadur, one of the three great Paigah nobles of Hyderabad. His estate covered nearly 1300 square miles with an annual income of over Rs. 22 lakh. In 1920, he was given the title of Nawab Inayat Jung, and the title of Nawab Moin-ud-Doula in 1922. In 1923, he was appointed Minister in charge of the Industrial Department and also became a member of the Executive Council.
Nawab Moin-ud-Doula Bahadur was a keen rider and polo player, and enjoyed watching horse-racing. However, his main recreation was hunting. He was also passionately fond of watching cricket, and did much to encourage the game. The Moin-ud-Doula Gold Cup Cricket Tournament, which he started, attracts the best cricketers in India.
